Started decorating the 7' tree at the Blue Grass Country Club for their Christmas Tree Elegance event yesterday!
We took old film donated by Amber and all creatives artwork resized and placed in frames. Then we started decorating with this and that...lights, ribbon and more.
We placed the gorgeous tree top that our instructor David Deitrick handmade then adorned the tree with waaaaay up high on the tree.
Out of the blue students Tabby and Jazzy heard about a Gingerbread contest that winners would receive a cash prize for creating. Not very surprised when I saw them hard at work making a Gingerbread creation to include marshmallow igloos and twizzler fountain.
As the day went on we waiting for the Optimist Club to adorn each tree with expensive gifts and trinkets. Our tree because of our origonal artwork was started at an initial value of 1,000.00 and today will be auctioned off for much, much more. I will get you those numbers soon!
Then members of the community came into the club and voted on each of the trees. One was a designer tree from Manuel most known as "King of Cowboy Couture," another was a tree from artist Sheryl Spencer who has contributed her artistic skills to La Crucero and The Nashville Banner, and has been a featured artist in Nashville’s Gibson Guitar Town Project.
We waited all day and when the votes were in... WE WON 1st place :)
I want to thank everyone from the Creatives Group for all their efforts and contributions. I LOVE how we all pulled together during this extremely hard and busy Holiday to work together. This was the true meaning of Christmas for me.
See you on other project and at the meetings!
You're AWESOME!

Nossi College of Art Judge Gerald Graves for Goodpasture High School
Recently I spoke to our Admissions Representative Gerald Graves about his experiences as a judge for the The Good pasture Hight School.
This what he had to say about it!
For the 2nd consecutive year, Dr. Edwards and I have been selected by Goodpasture Christian School as Homecoming Float Judges. This is exciting because Nossi College of Art will be neighbors to Goodpasture, when we get moved into our new building. The Goodpasture Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores, each built a float for the Homecoming competition. We were judging each float for creativity, theme, difficulty, etc. I want to congratulate the Goodpasture students for the amazing work and thought put into each float. My duties as a float judge were extremely challenging , having to make the decision of whom should be the winner. It was a tough (just kidding---FUN) job, but someone had to do it, and glad it was me.

Who are we talking about here?
Well… it’s Nossi College of Art’s Commencement Speaker Ray Walker of course!
In Nashville, in 1952, Ray became the bass singer in the college quartet. Pat Boone was also a member of that group. He began doing local television and various shows.
Ray is a member of the renowned singing group The Jordanaires. He had a successful, daily, morning show, “YOUR OWN TIME” on the ABC Channel in Nashville in 1976.
Ray has done modeling, numerous radio, television, magazine and newspaper commercials (locally and nationally). He was a deputy sheriff (as a liaison between trouble youth and distraught families) for twenty-some years and, as were all the Jordanaires, an honorary member of the Tennessee Governor’s Staff in Tennessee for many years.
This Saturday, June 6th at 2:00PM
First Baptist Church
613 S. Main Street
Goodlettsville, TN
Nossi College of Art will have the honor of hearing Ray Walkers Commencement speech first hand.
