Nossi College of Art students were recognized on Tuesday, February 24, at the American Advertising Federation of Nashville’s Student ADDY Awards Show at the Cannery Ballroom. For three years in a row Nossi students have swept the photography awards with their outstanding work. Nossi College of Art won two Gold and one Silver Student ADDY award in Photography, a Silver Student ADDY award in Illustration, as well as the only ADDYs awarded in the Animation and Non-Traditional Advertising categories. A special Judge’s Choice award was also presented for one of the winning photographs.

The winning entries will be sent to the American Advertising Federation’s 7th District Student ADDY award competition to be held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in April. Winning student work can then advance to national level competition, where Nossi College of Art has won National Student ADDYs in photography the last three years and an illustration award last year.

“We feel confident our students will again receive honors at the 7th District competition,” stated Cyrus Vatandoost, Nossi’s Executive Director. “The District has consistently presented Nossi College of Art with ADDY awards, where our students have competed against colleges and universities in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia. We are very pleased with their accomplishments.”

Nossi recently developed a Bachelor degree program for photographers. Beginning last fall a Bachelor of Graphic Arts degree in Digital Photography and Video was offered. The program expands on the Associate degree in Commercial Digital Photography and creates an opportunity for students to learn advanced digital photography and video production. Established in 1973, the art college offers Bachelor and Associate degrees in graphic design, illustration, photography and video.
